Villa Galaxie – a modernist pearl

We travelled to the glamorous Villa Galaxie for the Gigue Spring Summer 2023 campaign Shoot. Villa Galaxie is a unique residential property located in the Esterel Massif, a mountain range and natural area just south of Cannes. The avant-garde villa was unique in 1960s France and inspired by Californian modernism. Fifty years on the villa still has a contemporary feel.

The villa belongs to the legendary Jalou family, the dynasty behind fashion magazine L’Officiel. Georges Jalou himself was responsible for the design and created a glamorous paradise where the allure of his fashion publications can be sensed in every room.

The face – top model Cato Van Ee

This is the third season in a row that we have chosen Frisian top model Cato Van Ee to be the face of Gigue. In this exciting new campaign she explores the architectural splendour of the villa and her unique environment, the characteristic red rock formations of l’Esterel and the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea.

California on the Côte d’Azur

The new summer collection alludes to cosmopolitan summer resorts, as much Palm Springs as the French Riviera with its lively interplay of colours, relaxed yet elegant silhouettes and luxurious summer fabrics.

These influences encounter each other in the magnificent Villa Galaxie. A Californian pearl on the Bay of Cannes. It is a stunning backdrop for the Gigue Spring Summer 2023 campaign.
